Yes, I have gel nails and paint them regularly. It is safe to paint them. However, if you need to remove any nail polish use non-acetone nail polish remover. Always seal the nailpolish with a clear overcoat this will help them appear shiny like you are looking at the gel nail itself. I am a nail tech and yes it is safe, when you take off your polish use non-acetone remover, or it could make your nails become sticky.
